Heavy Equipment Operators
Description
As an Equipment Operator, with you be responsible for earth moving, grading, material pushing and clearing on a project. Your duties will include:
- Stripping overburden, stacking, stockpiling and reclamation.
- Placing blast rock.
- Running a lift off of stakes and able to keep a clean lift for the trucks.
- Road building, cut fills, staking and understanding conditions of dirt.
- Sloping, grading and running GPS equipment.
- Performing routine equipment inspections, meticulously examining tires, fluids, lights and brakes to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Adhering to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
- Championing our safety culture by adhering to Morgan’s Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
- Showcasing your exceptional judgement and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrating your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating in heavy civil earthworks, construction, mining or oilfield maintenance services industry.
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator running dozers (D6-D10), excavators (336, 349, 390) or graders (14-16 H/M series)
- Proven experience with technical specifications and grade plans, building roads, and mining environments is preferred.
- Proven experience stripping overburden, ripping, placing top soil and reclamation activities in an active mine site
- Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level 2 for tracked gear operators.
- Able to shovel out equipment tracks
- Provide your own steel toed 6″ lace up boots (CSA Approved)
- Able to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
- Alcohol, Drug and fit to work testing is a pre-employment requirement.

- Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to work day or night shifts.

Description

- Setting up work areas with signage and marking out hazards.
- Carrying and delivering construction materials.
- Shovelling soil and/or equipment tracks.
- Flagging and traffic control.
- Shooting grade.
- Equipment watch.
- Hand excavation around facilities and erosion control installation, working with geotextile materials.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure efficiently.
- Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan’s Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
- Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
- Showcase your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a construction labourer.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license, and a clean 3-year abstract.
- Proven experience in the heavy civil earthworks, construction, mining, or oilfield maintenance services industry.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Alcohol, Drug and Fit to Work testing is a pre-employment requirement.
- Able to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
- Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness (in class), H2S Alive or awareness.
- Provide your own CSA Approved safety boots that are a minimum of 6″ high and fully laceable.
